CONCERT ATTIRE GUIDELINES
Remember... from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you represent all of those that have come before you, all of those present with you, and all of those that hope to follow you. When you are in uniform, you are not looked upon as an individual, but as a member of our Music Program... past, present, and future. What type of impression are we leaving?
These guidelines have been developed to help create a positive presentation for the Music Program. The Music Program wears its attire with PRIDE, presenting a professional appearance whenever we publicly appear together. Only attire/accessories outlined above will be accepted... No substitutions!
- Full uniform includes: fastened collar, completely buttoned, proper sleeve/pant length, proper sock length/color, being clean shaven or with neatly trimmed facial hair, wearing deodorant
- NO excessive jewelry/make-up, watches, fingernail polish, perfume/cologne
- Socks/Hose - Students are required to wear hose (black or nude) or dress socks (solid black)
- NO ankle length, no show, or athletic socks
- Shoes - Students must wear appropriate footwear when performing.
- Options include: MU shoes, closed-toe flats, dress shoes
- NO heels, flip-flops, sandals, athletic shoes, etc.
- Conduct - Students are expected to conduct themselves properly while in concert attire. You are to remain fully dressed until instructed otherwise by your Director. We will strive to present a unified and professional appearance at all times.
- Maintenance - Each student is individually responsible for the maintenance and care of your concert attire. An inspection takes place before every performance. Students dressed improperly will not be allowed to perform.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Students will be fitted/measured for concert attire during the first weeks of school in the fall. RETURNING STUDENTS... TRY YOUR CONCERT ATTIRE ON! For those who have outgrown your concert attire, new/replacement pieces can be ordered during these fittings.
- Upon receipt of your new concert attire... TRY IT ON and make adjustments IMMEDIATELY. Pants/Skirts will need to be hemmed prior to our first public performance. This is the responsibility of each student musician. Hems in dresses and pants should be sewn BY HAND ONLY! DO NOT use adhesives, glue, “stitch witchery” or machine stitching. Your local dry cleaner can provide this service for a nominal fee.
- All concert attire items become the personal property of the student and should be professionally altered or tailored to fit. The Music Program will only offer exchanges on new, unaltered purchases to ensure proper sizing. If your student has outgrown their concert attire, new attire will need to be purchased.
