FACT... It costs an estimated $250 per student / per year to maintain the standard of excellence we have grown to love and respect about the Mt. Hebron Music Program.
FACT... The school system provides approximately $2,000 total for the ENTIRE music department per year. With over 250 students in the music program, that works out to about $8.00 per student / per year. FACT... Your financial support, combined with our fundraising efforts, IS what makes it possible for our musicians to continue the Mt. Hebron tradition of excellence. |

The Howard County Public School system (HCPSS) is a non-profit governmental unit with a federal tax identification number of 52-6000968
The Howard County Public School system is not considered a 501 (C) (3) corporation as defined in the Internal Revenue Code. Internal revenue Code 510 (C) (3) corporations are primarily charitable organizations as well as non-profit.
Governmental units are covered under section 170 (C) which makes it clear that "charitable contribution" includes a contribution or gift to a state, possession of the United states or political subdivision of any of the foregoing, or the United states, or the District of Columbia, but only if the contribution of gift is made exclusively for public purposes. Therefore, donations to the HCPSS or any of its schools qualify as charitable contribution.
