Joshua Rettenmayer has a B.A. in Music from UMBC and extended study in jazz performance/jazz theory from Towson University. He has been teaching guitar for over 18 years in the Baltimore area. The various styles he teaches include but are not limited to jazz, rock, country, R&B, blues, and classical. In addition, he teaches music theory through advanced levels. Joshua teaches for the Howard County Public School System as well. He is in charge of the guitar program at Mt. Hebron High school in Ellicott City, MD.
His jazz guitar duo "Stolen Moments" (2013 - Present) performs regularly in Glenelg, MD. and has performed in Annapolis, MD., Alexandria, VA., and Towson, MD. They have also recorded at Red Bridge Studios USA in Savage, MD. From 2010 - 2012 Joshua was a guitar player/singer with the Baltimore based swing band "String Theory" which performed in Little Italy, Baltimore and 49 West in Annapolis. Joshua has a love for playing and teaching music and considers it a true calling. |
